I'm Braeden, a designer, artist, and visual communicator based in Toronto, Ontario. Growing up in the GTA, my passion for design started in front of the television on Saturday nights, watching Toronto Maple Leafs games and drawing my favourite logos and uniforms. Before long, this evolved into creating my own jersey concepts, a practice that I picked up again in high school, where I began to discover the extent of how graphic design impacted the world around me. I began posting my concepts online in 2021 as BC Sport Design, familiarizing myself with the Adobe Suite programs, as well as the basics of design principles, branding, and typography.
In 2022, seeking to branch out into other creative endeavours besides the world of sports design, I began freelancing as Braeden Carroll Design, picking up the odd project while in school at the University of Toronto. Working towards a degree in the Urban Studies program with minors in history and political science, I learned how I could combine my formal education with my self-taught passion. Graphic and industrial design is key to shaping our everyday lived environments, between cultural expression, information design, branding and identity, public art, urban signage, and a plethora of other uses.
Braeden Carroll Design is built on the notion that well-executed graphic design can enhance the functionality, aesthetics, and overall experience of both the digital world and physical environment. This goes beyond simply conveying a message, but rather establishing culture through cohesive and long-lasting visual systems.
